Vice President, Repertoire – JGCA5016 – San Francisco, CA
Reports to: President & COO
Manages: A&R, Publishing, Creative and Art
Previous Experience: 8-10 years product development experience with at least 5 years experience in the entertainment software industry.
Education: Minimum BA/BS degree or equivalent, MBA preferred.
Specific Job Duties:
- Manage Product Portfolio (Roadmap) from the sourcing and signing, right through to manufacturing. This means collaborating with the producers to ensure that milestone deliverables are all correct and according to contract, and alerting the company when anything changes. This to include managing the internal green light process and “publishing” group that currently administers the process.
- Identify new development opportunities for original intellectual property as well as proprietary content and licenses.
- Oversee Product Quality Control – with Marketing and Producers both having to be measured to ensure that quality and materials are what they are supposed to be, and working with Production Group to fix issues early and not go unidentified.
- Must evaluate business case scenarios, negotiate deal terms and manage all stages of the contract process.
- Manages a small team within and collaborates with a broader group internationally in Europe and Asia to accomplish goals.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key development partners and players utilizing new and non-traditional communication pipelines.
- Evaluate development opportunities and new product concepts; utilizing key criteria such as developer capability, technological edge, commercial potential, gameability, profitability, and fit with the brand.
- Manage both Creative Director and Art Director to effectively, and at all times, provide qualitative improvement to the Production process.
- Manage the Asset Planning and delivery process – interfacing between PD and Central Marketing to ensure that there are no asset flow issues
- Administer development negotiations and contracts while involving all relevant departments within. Negotiate updates and amendments to Development contracts through Product development cycle as necessary.
- Prepare presentations for internal review and approvals.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Business Planning to generate forecasts and P&Ls; utilize market data to support arguments.
- Meet regularly with Producers and Product Marketing Managers to receive status updates on individual products; regularly inform Executives of any significant changes, failings or successes;
- Make informed recommendations to Executives to improve individual products’ chance for success including adjustments to schedule, budget and design/scope
- Organize quarterly product review presentations for larger publishing organization to provide candid updates into the “state of the game”
- Assist Producers and Product Marketing managers as needed to guide products through publishing process gateways
- Collaborate with European and Asian business units to accurately reflect global needs in the roadmap
- Weekly report to Exec Staff Meeting to ensure total transparency between PD and Marketing.
Skills and Abilities:
- Have a proven track record of successfully shipped critical and commercial ‘hit’ products.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities, solve problems, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems efficiently.
- A solid understanding of all the key components that go into today’s top selling games (3d art, animation, game design, music and sound effects), their creation and the management thereof.
- A strong background in production with experience in prototyping and pre-production processes.
- Strong understanding of brand development and management, from creative, marketing and sales perspectives.
- Proven software project management skills; MS Project a plus.
- Strong supervisory skills and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences on a broad range of topics: technical, business and creative.
Travel Requirements :
- London 2-3 times a year
- Japan 1-2 times a year

DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY – JGMA5015 – Foxboro, MA
The Director of Technology is responsible for the architecture and development of the core technology platform on which our games will run. Our team is first and foremost a team of entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to think fast on their feet, be entrepreneurial, creative and willing to adapt to a fast-moving market. Candidates should be comfortable leading teams of skilled engineers, hiring and firing, setting budgets, prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects and work-streams and working with other departments (e.g. marketing, art, game design etc.). A passion for building excellent software and writing efficient, elegant code is a must. A passion for sports and computer games is a plus.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of professional C++ development experience of which at least 2 years should be at a senior level as a software architect or a team leader.
- Familiarity with client-server architecture and writing bandwidth and memory-efficient code
- Experience with build management and source control systems
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and game development processes
- Development experience or deep knowledge of at least one of the following areas of core game technology: AI, Physics and Collision, Path Planning, Networking and Load Balancing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to write high-quality specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Valued Skills:
- Prior experience in the games industry, particularly having shipped a product as a senior engineer or lead
- Proficiency with PHP or Java/JSP and AJAX
- Proficiency with SQL and database architecture
- Proficiency with HTML/XML/CSS
- Experience developing Flash/Shockwave applications
