DIRECTOR OF GAME DESIGN – JSNV3080 – Reno, NV

Job Summary
- Oversees the creative game design function that develops and analyzes the mathematical properties of game concepts in the form of game tables and video slot games
- To ensure that all game designs are based on sound mathematical principles
- Responsibilities also include, overseeing game design to achieve desired look and feel
- Oversees multiple teams
- Timeframe for game development is 12-24 months into the future
- Manages employees from the game design discipline; has both direct and indirect reports
Responsibilities
- Oversee the activities and creativity of game design teams to ensure the creation of high quality and high earning game content in a timely manner
- Estimates, schedules and manages the workload of the department
- Ensures a cohesive creative vision across products developed
- Proactively encourages team to express and enhance creativity and creative approaches to game design
- Reviews and approves the work of the department; serves as design / regulatory critic during scheduled reviews for work in progress
- Examines content for possible Intellectual Property (IP) issues
- Stays current with competition to ensure that all new games are competitive and compelling in the marketplace
- Participates on patent committee review board, various steering committees, task forces and user groups that are established to set policies, plans, guidelines, and standards related to the development of products and technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree required and a Masters degree is a plus
- Typically has 5 to 10 years management experience
- Typically has 8+ years of experience in Game Development
Required Skills
- Must have experience managing creative talent
- Must have a Creative aptitude” someone who will be an advocate for the creative aspects
- Must demonstrate strong Leadership skills
- Must be a leader – Motivational/inspiring management style
- Has expert knowledge of the game development
